Our story
It started with a love for Guatemala. It grew into a way of sharing it with the world.
In 2004, Bitty RamĂrez Portilla, a seasoned travel expert with a deep love for her country, had a vision: to show travelers a side of Guatemala that went beyond the expected.
A Guatemala filled with extraordinary biodiversity, remarkable wildlife, living cultures, and communities with stories worth discovering.
That vision brought together biologists, ornithologists, conservationists, NGOs, and tourism professionals with one shared purpose: to position Guatemala as a world-class destination for nature and meaningful travel.
And that is how Guatemala Nature was born.

What began with a strong focus on birdwatching, conservation, and nature travel has evolved over more than 20 years into a family-run travel company designing highly personalized journeys.
Today, our experiences go far beyond birdwatching.
We create tailor-made adventures that can take you from ancient Maya cities and volcanic landscapes to local kitchens, wildlife encounters, remote communities, beaches, neighboring countries, and even extraordinary journeys beyond Central America.
