Arrival at the Private Finca Entry

  • Arrive at the private finca entry point. Hop into our specialized 4x4 vehicle as we start our ascent, navigating up to 80% of the path toward the volcano.

Start of the Hike

  • Upon reaching the hike's starting point, prepare for an exhilarating ascent to the summit of Acatenango Volcano. This challenging trek offers stunning views and a chance to connect with nature.

Reach the Summit

  • Celebrate your accomplishment upon reaching the summit of Acatenango! Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and, on clear days, glimpse the nearby Fuego Volcano.

Descent to Basecamp

  • Begin your descent back to Basecamp, taking in the unique volcanic terrain and flora along the way.

Lunch at Basecamp

*The weather at Acatenango Volcano can be highly unpredictable due to its unique microclimate. Be prepared for any weather changes during your visit. The ascent may occasionally be canceled if the path becomes impassable, as this would pose a safety risk for our clients. We do not offer refunds in such cases; instead, we reschedule the experience to a future date based on the availability of the private property that authorizes access at the volcano.

*Our team strives to make this activity as smooth as possible and will ascend as far as the vehicle can safely go. Please note that the time needed for the ascent is not exact, as it is a single-track route, which may require extra time to clear any obstructions. Additional actions, such as using winches, straps, or chains, may be needed to ensure a safe journey, and this can occasionally extend the time required.

  • Is transportation included?

    Yes, land transfers are included from your hotel to Finca La Soledad. We'll pick you up from your place in Antigua Guatemala. If you depart from Guatemala City or areas outside Antigua please let us know, because it might be an extra charge.

  • Where are the meeting spots?

    We can pick you up directly from your hotel located in Antigua's city center. If your hotel is located outside of these areas or in Guatemala City, please let us know, and we'll assess if any additional charges apply.



  • How far in advance do I need to book?

    For this tour, It's a good idea to book at least 5 days in advance. This ensures you won't miss out and helps us plan your tour effectively.



  • Are meals included?

    We recommend having breakfast before departure. We include lunch, additionally, it's advisable to bring water and snacks to keep yourself energized and hydrated during the hike.
